Encounter Trail

The Encounter Trail is a scenic coastal pathway stretching approximately 4.9 kilometres one way, from the Ceduna Foreshore to Pinky Point in Thevenard. Winding along the edge of Murat Bay, this shared-use trail is perfect for walking, jogging, or cycling—offering uninterrupted views of the sparkling water, passing boats, and abundant birdlife.

Along the way, enjoy a series of interpretive signs that share stories of local history, nature, and culture. There are plenty of rest stops, shaded seating areas, and spots to pause for photos or a picnic. The trail links key points of interest including the Ceduna Sailing Club, O'Loughlin Terrace, and the bustling Thevenard Port—South Australia’s second busiest.

Ending (or beginning) at Pinky Point Lookout, the trail offers a refreshing way to experience the coastal charm of Ceduna and Thevenard.
